no place like home
I know the phrase "there's no place like home" is cliche, but as much as I hate to admit it it's true. Although I can only handle staying for a few days at a time before my mother and I have a come-apart, I never can seem to visit enough. Being the baby of the family (better yet, 'baby girl'), my parents have a hard time accepting the fact that I'm 21 years old and do not need a curfew anymore, NOR someone to remind me every 5 minutes to 'clean my room' or pick up as I go. No matter how hectic it can get, there's nothing like the constant love and affection only my mom can give me, or the silly jokes and pranks my dad loves to pull, or even Zeke constantly searching for SOMETHING to tell on me for- at the end of the day I wouldn't trade it for anything. When the day comes that I have to head back to school I'm typically more than ready to get away and be on my own again, but sometimes even after only 2 or 3 days I find myself longing to go back. Beyond family, home for me (in my opinion) is one of the prettiest & quaint places I've ever been to-maybe because I'm partial to the place I grew up-but either way nowhere could relax me more. No matter where this crazy life takes me, this will always be home for me-and there's no place like it.
